An obelisk is a tall, four-sided, narrow tapering monument which ends in a pyramid-like shape at the top. These were originally called "tekhenu" by the builders, the Ancient Egyptians. The Greeks who saw them used the Greek 'obeliskos' to describe them, and this word passed into Latin and then English. Ancient obelisks were often monolithic, whereas most modern obelisks are made of several stones and can have interior spaces.

Respecting our elders...
We all have a family history which is no less than a classic novel. We have heard tales of our elders; who doesn’t like to hear stories about their fathers and mothers, their grandparents.. as proud Americans.
The family tree is where we come from, who we are, and how our families advanced through time. This gives us roots in this world and an individual story to depend upon.
We should respect our history and those who made it.
